Waiting at the gate of the Amsterdam U.S. Consulate is intimidating. So intimidating, in fact, that they don’t want you to photograph it.
Nevertheless, that is where I had to go this morning to complete step 2 in the 5-step process of Obtaining My Dutch Residency Permit.
Then I was off to Den Haag for step 3: Get the same form “legalized.”
After all was said and done, we paid €53 for a piece of scribbled-on paper.
And we couldn’t be happier about it.
